Basanta Gauchan
Basanta Gauchan is one of the most celebrated international footballers Nepal has ever produced. During the SAFF Games 1999 held in Kathmandu, he captured the heart of the entire nation with his outstanding performance, becoming a symbol of pride and unity for Nepali football fans.
He was a key player for Manang Marshyangdi Club and the New Road Team (NRT), contributing significantly to both teams' domestic success and recognition.
Today, Basanta Gauchan holds an A Category Coaching License and is actively shaping the next generation of footballers. He currently serves as the Head of the International Department at Funroot Football Academy,JAPAN. With over 10 years of coaching experience in Japan, including at FC Toreros and Funroots Academy Japan, his relentless efforts and international network have been instrumental in enabling the academy's players to consistently participate in football programs and tournaments in Japan, opening doors to global exposure for young talents.
